[Ncep.list.wwatch3.discussion-group] WAVEWATCH III: New Public Release (v5.16)

We would like to inform you about the new public release of WAVEWATCH III
(v 5.16). Details about the model and how to get the code can be obtained at

http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/wavewatch

This release has been made possible due to the dedicated efforts of
multiple researchers and programmers without whose unrelenting commitment
this effort would not have been possible. The development group of
WAVEWATCH III now spans three continents and at last count stands at 38,
with many more making contributions for further development of the model.
WAVEWATCH III model development has now transitioned more into a community
driven effort, although code management is still done at NCEP.

We gratefully acknowledge the contributions of all the talented people that
make up the “WAVEWATCH III team” and look forward to a long period of
cooperation in developing WAVEWATCH III.

P.S. Those who have signed off on the license of version 4.18 and have a
user name and password on the server can use this to download the new model
version. New users will need to sign off on the license on the web site in
order to get access.
