WWIII Notes -- Wed Oct 18th 2016


Hello Everyone,

First of all, we would like to have these meetings monthly.  If the third
Wednesday at 10:30AM EDT is not a good time please let me know.  I know
everyone will no be able to join us every time, but we of course would like
to have as many as possible.

Status of Public release:

I am currently running the last set of regression tests with Intel
compilers. I have already run regtests with debug options for Intel,
Portland compilers, and GNU.  A big thank you to all of you who have helped
me debug the issues that I found.  Roberto and Andre are currently doing a
final read through of the manual here at NCEP and the hope is that
everything will be ready for release early next week.

A few requests:

The public release is a great time for some clean-up of the svn and wiki
page. Please go through the wiki ticket page and resolve any completed
tickets and add new tickets and milestones for bug reports and planned
enhancements.  Also, let me know if there are any svn branches that are no
longer needed and can be deleted. I’ve been hearing reports of potential
memory leak issues.  Since it’s impossible for one person to check for
allocate/deallocate pairs, would everyone please look at the subroutines
they are working on to make sure allocates have corresponding deallocates.
