The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems have been updated on the CPC Global Monsoons

*HIGHLIGHTS:*



*African Monsoons:*



Guinea, Sierra Leone and eastern Burkina Faso registered rainfall totals of
over 150 mm (moisture surpluses of over 100 mm).



Week-1 outlook shows an increased chance for above average rainfall over
parts of Guinea, Sierra Leone, southern Mali, northern Côte d'Ivoire,
Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Cameroon, CAR, southern Chad, northwestern South
Sudan, western Sudan, parts of DRC, Uganda and western Kenya.





*Asian-Australian Monsoons:*



Not available for this week.





*North American Monsoons:*



Below-average rainfall has been observed over northwestern Mexico while
southwestern US received near-average precipitation during the past week.



Rainfall accumulations over the past 30 days were below-average for much of
Mexico.



NCEP/GFS Forecasts call for near-average precipitation for northwestern
Mexico and southwestern US during the next two weeks.
