*HIGHLIGHTS:*



*African Monsoons:*



Stronger than average lower-level, westerly flow brought heavy downpours
over Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Conakry, western Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana,
Togo, and Benin.



Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for above-average rainfall
over Guinea-Conakry, Sierra Leone, southern Mali, parts of Cote d’Ivoire
and Burkina Faso, much of Nigeria, northern Cameroon, northeastern CAR,
parts of Chad, Sudan, and South Sudan, northeastern DRC, Uganda, and
southwestern Kenya.





*Asian-Australian Monsoons:*



Not available for this week.





*North American Monsoons:*



Below-average rainfall has been observed over much of central and southern
Mexico during the past week. Meanwhile, northwestern Mexico and
southwestern US have received near-average precipitation.



Rainfall accumulations over the past 30 days were below-average for much of
Mexico.



NCEP/GFS Forecasts call for below-average (near-average) precipitation for
northwestern Mexico (southwestern US) during 08-14 July 2019.
