The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems have been updated on the CPC Global Monsoons

*African Monsoons:*



Rainfall was below-average over parts of Angola, southern DRC and northern
Zambia.



Local areas in Angola, northwestern DRC, portions of Tanzania, southern
Mozambique, Zimbabwe, northeastern South Africa, and northern Madagascar
had above-average rainfall.



Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for below-average rainfall
over portions of Angola and Namibia, Botswana, and parts of Zimbabwe and
South Africa. In contrast, there is an increased chance for above-average
rainfall over much of Tanzania, Malawi, eastern Zambia and northern
Mozambique.



*Asian-Australian Monsoons:*

*South American Monsoons:*



During the last 7 days, below-average precipitation was observed over much
of southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, northeastern Argentina, southeastern
Bolivia and Colombia. Above-average precipitation was observed over much of
northern and central Brazil and portions of northern Peru.



For Days 1-7 (10 - 16 Dec 2018), below-average precipitation is predicted
for much of Venezuela, northern Ecuador, northern and central Peru, central
and southern Brazil, eastern Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina.
Above-average precipitation is predicted for portions of northern Brazil,
Uruguay, southern Peru and southern Colombia.
