The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems have been updated on the CPC Global Monsoons
website:
http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/Global_Monsoons/Global-Monsoon.shtml

*HIGHLIGHTS:*

*African Monsoons (AFMS.ppt):*

During the past seven days, many places in the Sahel region received
above-average rainfall, whereas rainfall deficits prevailed over portions
of Nigeria and the Lake Victoria region.

Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for above-average rainfall
over much of Senegal, southern Mali, Guinea, northern Cote d’Ivoire and
Burkina Faso. In contrast, there is an increased chance for below-average
rainfall over portions of Nigeria, southern Niger, southern and central
Chad, and portions of southern Sudan.

*Asian-Australian Monsoons (AAMS.ppt):*

AAMS weekly summary is not available for the weeks of Aug. 24, 31, and
Sept. 07, and will be resumed on Sept. 14, 2015.

*North American Monsoons (NAMS.ppt):*

Slightly above-average rainfall has been observed over northwestern Mexico
and southwestern US during the past week.

Rainfall accumulations over the past 30 days were below-average over nearly
the entire NAM domain.

NCEP/GFS Forecasts call for slightly above-average rainfall over
northwestern Mexico and southwestern US during the next two weeks.

*South American Monsoons (SAMS.ppt):*

The South American Monsoon System 2014-2015 wet season has ended. The next
weekly update will be prepared in September 2015. The summary of the
