The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems (SAMS.ppt, AFMS.ppt) have been updated on the
CPC Global Monsoons website:
http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/Global_Monsoons/Global-Monsoon.shtml

*HIGHLIGHTS:*

*African Monsoons (AFMS.ppt):*

Suppressed rainfall continued to prevail over many places of Central and
Southern Africa countries, whereas moderate to heavy rainfall resulted in
moisture surpluses over eastern Tanzania and southern Kenya.

Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for below-average rainfall
over much of Tanzania, eastern Zambia, Malawi and northern Mozambique. In
contrast, there is an increased chance for above-average rainfall over
southern Angola, northern Namibia, portions of Botswana, and Zimbabwe.

*Asian-Australian Monsoons (AAMS.ppt):*

Due to personnel issue, there will be no AAMS updates for this and the next
week. It will be resumed on 14 December, 2014. Sorry for the inconvenience.

*South American Monsoons (SAMS.ppt):*

Rainfall deficits continue over the core monsoon region of central Brazil
and the southern Amazon Basin.

During the last 7 days (1-7 December 2014), below-average precipitation was
observed over most of the Amazon Basin, portions of central and
southeastern Brazil, eastern Bolivia, northern Paraguay, and northern and
central portions of Argentina. Above-average precipitation was observed
over most of Peru, Uruguay and extreme northeastern Argentina.

For 8-14 December 2014, below average precipitation is predicted for most
of the central and western Amazon Basin , coastal areas of southeastern
Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and southern Brazil. Above-average precipitation
is predicted for central Brazil, and most of Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and
northern Argentina.
