The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems (SAMS.ppt and AFMS.ppt) have been updated on the
CPC Global Monsoons website:
http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/Global_Monsoons/Global-Monsoon.shtml

*HIGHLIGHTS:*

*African Monsoons (AFMS.ppt):*

Another week of heavy rainfall sustained moisture surpluses over portions
of Gabon, whereas suppressed rainfall prevailed over many places of Central
and Southern Africa countries.

Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for below-average rainfall
over northern DRC, northern Congo Brazzaville, Zimbabwe, northeastern South
Africa, central and southern Mozambique, and southern Malawi. In contrast,
there is an increased chance for above-average rainfall over central and
southern Angola, western Zambia, and portions of southern DRC.

*Asian-Australian Monsoons (AAMS.ppt):*

Due to personnel issue, there will be no AAMS updates for this and the next
week. It will be resumed on 14 December, 2014. Sorry for the inconvenience.

*South American Monsoons (SAMS.ppt):*

Rainfall deficits continue over central Brazil and the southern Amazon
Basin. Recently, beneficial rains have reduced deficits over southeastern
Brazil.

During the last 7 days (24-30 November 2014), below-average precipitation
was observed over portions of northern and eastern Brazil, southern
Venezuela and Colombia. Above-average precipitation was observed over
Southeast Brazil and portions of Uruguay and eastern Argentina.

For 1-7 December 2014, below average precipitation is predicted for most of
the Amazon Basin , southeastern Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and northern
Argentina. Above-average precipitation is predicted for central and
southern Peru, portions of Central-West Brazil, and Uruguay.
