[Ncep.list.emc.monsoondesk] Reg. run time switch for monthly outputs

Thanks. Dr. Murthi. The prickly issue is the calender length, which prevents us to fix output frequency anything other than 24 hrs. Your suggestion of generating monthly outputs (post processing) and cleaning up is the best option, I guess.
Best regards
Ashok

Subject: Re: Reg. run time switch for monthly outputs
The variable "FHOUT" in the AM namelist controls the output frequency for the AM and "FHZER" controls the interval over which accumulated variables are accumulated. Note that FHOUT <= FHZER. However, outputs like sigma file are instantaneous. So, if you make the output frequency too large, you will not get good monthly means.
My recommendations is to have the script cleanup after monthly means are calculated; this is already in your scripts I think.
I hope this helps.

Dear Colleagues,
Could any of you kindly let me know if there is a provision or switch to disable the 'daily' outputs and produce only 'monthly' outputs while running the CFS2? We could of course do this at post processing level. But an run-time selection would help us to cut down generation of huge data in very long runs from which we may not be interested in daily outputs.
Thanks and regards
