[WAM-IPE] question about WAM-IPE repository history

I made sure I was able to make a test commit after I made a tiny change
within the IPE source code.
Now github(https://github.com/IonospherePlasmasphereElectrodynamics/ipe)
shows that the new commit has been pushed to the branch called "bob". I
thought WAM-IPE is linked to "Master", at least it used to be. Perhaps I
am misunderstanding. I totally get lost. Could you please explain to me
why WAM-IPE svn external is linked to the branch "bob" in IPE github
repository?
