--  gint with ice:  gint may be creating spurious Hs values when used to
interpolate data from unstructured grids in the presence of ice.  In
attachment please find figures showing the Hs fields from the GLW
unstructured in Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron. They are for the 48h and 148h
forecasts. There are matching figures showing the output of gint
interpolating from the unstructured to a 2.5km Lambert conformal grid.
Notice that the blank areas in the unstructured grid, which are covered by
ice, have no Hs signal, but gint introduces unrealistic Hs within the ice
pack. That would be a topic for discussion trying to gather suggestions as
well.
