WWIII Notes -- Wed Jan 18th 2016


Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great start to the New Year! Some updates from
today’s meetings:

   - The ESMF interface will be reintegrated to the trunk soon, regression
   testing is in progress.
   - Updates for OASIS coupling are also expected soon
   - Work on the namelist *.nml for input files should be ready this
   summer.  There was discussion to either change the default preference to
   *.inp instead of *.nml or have some ability to override this.  This is
   important when doing regtesting and having problems with *.nml.
   - Work on the implicit solver for unstructured meshes is going well and
   testing is ongoing. Thanks to Aron who presented the current status of
   this!  One important change to point out as we move forward is that instead
   of:
   !/DIST     ISEA   = IAPROC + (JSEA-1)*NAPROC
   !/SHRD   ISEA   = JSEA
   There will be a function call GET_ISEA_JSEA instead.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 15th at 10:30am EST.


For those of you who had technical difficulties with WebEx, the only thing
I have found out so far is that chrome seems to work better than safari for
mac users.  If I find out any information before our next meeting I will
let you know.
