Raghu, Dusan,

We solve this problem on zeus by grabbing an interactive node and running
our test suite there:
  qsub -A <acct> -I -X -lnodes=1:ppn=1,walltime=08:00:00

This way the parallel make does not impact the front end nodes.

Hope this is useful.

Regards,

Tom
