MRMS Customers,

MRMS has temporarily removed the nexrad2 data from the Chicago (KLOT)
radar from the national mosaic imagery. WE have received multiple
notices that the data over Chicago has been compromised, and are
removing KLOT to allow the adjacent radars to fill in the area with
accurate data.

"

Message Date: Mar 26 2018 19:00:30
KLOT IS BACK ONLINE. TROUBLESHOOTING HAS IDENTIFIED A FAILED AZ
ROTARY JOINT. A
REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN ORDERED, BUT IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. KLOT WILL R
EMAIN ONLINE, BUT DUAL POL PRODUCTS SHOULD NOT BE USED.

"

Once the replacement part is in place, we will immediately put KLOT
back into the mosaic.

For those of you reviewing th enew 11.5 TEST data, the KLOT radar will
remain in place, the IDP team will be monitoring the TEST feed to
verify the KLOT fix.

Thank you,

Derek
