*African Monsoons:*



Below average rainfall was observed over many portions of the Gulf of
Guinea region, central equatorial Africa, and Angola, whereas many areas in
the Greater Horn received above-average rainfall.



Week1 outlooks call for an increased chance for below-average rainfall over
portions of the Gulf of Guinea countries, and parts of CAR and South
Sudan.  In contrast, there is an increased chance for above-average
rainfall over parts of eastern Angola, southern DRC, Zambia, northern
Zimbabwe, southern Malawi, and Mozambique.





*Asian-Australian Monsoons:*

*South American Monsoons:*



Long-term rainfall deficits are present over the Amazon Basin, Brazilian
Plateau and southern Brazil.



During the last 7 days, below-average precipitation was observed over much
of the western Colombia and Brazil.  Above-average precipitation was
observed over portions of the extreme southern Brazil and eastern Colombia.



For Days 1-7 (23-29 Oct 2017), below-average precipitation is predicted
over much of western and central Brazil, as well as southern Venezuela and
eastern Bolivia. Above-average precipitation is predicted for southern
Brazil and portions of Colombia and western Peru.
