The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems have been updated on the CPC Global Monsoons

*African Monsoons:*



Weekly rainfall surpluses exceeded 100mm over portions of Guinea-Conakry
and Sierra Leone.



Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for above-average rainfall
over southern Mali, northeastern Guinea, northern Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina
Faso, northern Ghana, northern Togo, northern Benin, northwestern Nigeria,
southwestern Niger, eastern South Sudan Republic and western Ethiopia. In
contrast, there is an increased chance for below-average rainfall over
eastern Liberia, southern Cote d'Ivoire, central and southern Ghana,
southern Togo, southern Benin, and southwestern Nigeria.





*Asian-Australian Monsoons:*



Not available for this week.





*North American Monsoons:*



Below-average rainfall has been observed over central Mexico during the
past week. Precipitation in southwestern US and northwestern Mexico was
near-average for the latest 7-day period.



Rainfall accumulations over the past 30 days were below-average for
southwestern US, northern and central Mexico and above-average over much of
southern Mexico.



NCEP/GFS Forecasts call for near-average precipitation for Arizona and
above-average precipitation for central and southern Mexico for the next
two weeks.
