The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems have been updated on the CPC Global Monsoons
website:
http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/Global_Monsoons/Global-Monsoon.shtml

*HIGHLIGHTS:*

*African Monsoons (AFMS.ppt):*

Moderate to locally heavy rainfall sustained moisture surpluses over
portions of the Greater Horn of Africa, whereas suppressed rainfall
prevailed over parts of Angola and western DRC.

Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for above-average rainfall
over eastern Liberia, southern Cote d'Ivoire, southern Ghana, eastern DRC,
Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, portions of South Sudan, southwestern Ethiopia,
western Kenya, northwestern Tanzania, southeastern Ethiopia, northeastern
Kenya and Somalia. In contrast, there is an increased chance for
below-average rainfall over eastern Angola, portions of southern DRC and
western Zambia.

*Asian-Australian Monsoons (AAMS.ppt):*

Not available for this week.

*South American Monsoons (SAMS.ppt):*

Rainfall deficits increased over many areas of northern South America,
including the Brazilian Plateau.

During the last 7 days (19-25 October 2015), below-average precipitation
was observed over most of Brazil, eastern Bolivia, southern Paraguay and
extreme northeastern Argentina. Above-average precipitation was observed
over portions of Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay and southern Brazil.

For 26 October -1 November 2015, below-average rainfall is predicted for
most of northern South America. Above-average rainfall is predicted for
portions of Brazil (15S-25S), southern Bolivia, Paraguay, northern
Argentina and Uruguay.
