The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems (SAMS.ppt, AFMS.ppt and AAMS.ppt) have been
updated on the CPC Global Monsoons website:
http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/Global_Monsoons/Global-Monsoon.shtml

*HIGHLIGHTS:*

*African Monsoons (AFMS.ppt):*

Suppressed rainfall continued to prevail over many places in the Gulf of
Guinea and Central Africa countries, whereas portions of Tanzania and Kenya
received above-average rainfall.

Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for above-average rainfall
over portions of eastern DRC, western Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, northwestern
Tanzania, western and central Ethiopia, and portions of South Sudan
Republic. In contrast, there is an increased chance for below-average
rainfall over portions of Kenya, and the neighboring places of northern
Tanzania and southern Somalia.

*Asian-Australian Monsoons (AAMS.ppt):*

Will be updated later but by COB today.

*South American Monsoons (SAMS.ppt):*

Large long-term rainfall deficits continue over the southern Amazon Basin
and portions of central Brazil.

During the last 7 days (27 April-3 May 2015), below-average precipitation
was observed over northern South America, northern Northeast Brazil, and
portions of southern Brazil. Above-average precipitation was observed over
east-central Brazil and eastern Argentina.

For 4-10 May 2015, below-average precipitation is predicted for most of
northern South America, northern Northeast Brazil, southern Brazil and
northeastern Argentina. Above-average precipitation is indicated for
Ecuador, northern Peru, and portions of western and southeastern Brazil.
