Dear Surya - Yes of course we can share the CFSv2 coding change with you. That was the intent of my earlier communication with Dr. Goswami. I believe the best way is for Larry Marx to get in touch with you (or whomever is best to receive information about the necessary source code changes). My recollection is that there are not a lot of lines to change. As Dr. Moorthi reported, we also had informed them about this error as soon as we had a complete diagnosis and fix, but NCEP decided that they cannot make use of the change since changing the operational code would mean also re-running the re-forecasts.

Yes, please do add my email address to the monsoon desk list. Please use my GMU email: ikinter at gmu.edu (and yes, it really is “i” kinter!). Thanks. Best regards. — Jim

Dear JIm,

Please have a look at the following discussion. You have mentioned once that you have informed Prof. Goswami about some bug that is impacting AMOC in CFS V2.
Can you please share the bug fix with this group. Are you part of the monsoon desk emailing list? If not, we can add your group to the list.

Regards
Surya

This was a bug that was first identified by Larry Marx of COLA. I was under the impression that COLA had informed IITM about this. We have not corrected this bug in the operations since the bug was also in the hindcasts.
