TAFB Shift Log for Thu May 18 2017 04:13:19 GMT-0400 (EDT)

Shift: Mid-Shift

Pacific Forecaster: A Levine

Atlantic Forecaster: J Lewitsky

Surface Analyst: M Tichacek

Technical Issues Summary:

GFE/NCP issues: Different night, a different NWPS Atlantic problem. The 06z
run for the NWPS Atlantic only came in through 72 hours even though 168
hours was used in the trigger GUI through GFE. Interestingly the WRKNWA
AWIPS text bulletin completion message for this run showed only 72 hours
was used to initialize it even though the GUI was set to 168 hours. Thus,
this is a different problem than what has been occurring on previous
nightshifts. NWPS RUN COMPLETE FOR NH2 AT Thu May 18 05:19:46 UTC 2017
RUNLEN (FORECAST HOURS) = 72 WNA (WWW3 BOUNDARY CONDITIONS) = WNAWave Once
this occurred I re-ran the NWPS for 06z and the second time it completed it
filled in the hours beyond 72 hours and the WRKNWA message correctly showed
168 hours.

N-AWIPS issues:

Other issues:

Miscellaneous issues: Ran rainfall manually at 0335z using intranet webpage
for the convection impacting Haiti but did not get any output (probably
because it was triggered right at 0335z which is the cutoff for the 0000z
run). Triggered another run manually for 0600z at AROUND 0630z but never
saw any resultant text products.
