Here is today's summary of NHC computer operations:
--- Craig

1. GFE/NCP issues: pressures from Atlantic for surface progs were
multi-lined with high value labels...might have been GFE sending to N-AWIPS
issue, or possibly grids were incorrect. AWIPS-II Sysadmin Chris Mello will

1. N-AWIPS issues: In order to select MISC data such as LTNG or ASCAT
winds, you first have to select "VGF" or some other Menu item in order to
select "New Source" and get the MISC "Accept" dialog prompt. This is a
known problem in N-AWIPS caused by the upgrade to the RHEL6 operating
system: When calling up Data, the Accept and Close buttons do not appear
when loading the "Misc" data type. Clicking on any other data type, then
back to "Misc", is a viable workaround.

2. ATCF issues: When Hurricane Specialists clicked on the "Last Advisory"
option in Advisory Comp, the template for the genesis wording was included
in the TCP (public advisory). But that wording is only supposed to appear
when the "Potential TC" option is invoked for Advisory Comp. TSB Developer
Craig Mattocks will investigate.
Other items:

1. A new release of the Wind Speed Probability (WSP) package includes
updates to the track and error distribution coefficients (years 2012-2016
for all basins) used by the Monte Carlo model. To be implemented on
Tuesday, May 16 at 1400Z (10 am EDT).
