Here is today's summary of NHC computer operations:
--- Mark

----------

TAFB:
Craig switched the NWPS driver script so that the runs only get submitted
to the comp02 server. TAFB ran the Atlantic domain and that appears to be
working properly. It takes about 1 hr 40 min to finish. The run does not
run to completion if the boundary condition files are not ready yet. We
will run that for another day before trying to run the EP domain.

A gzip file was inadvertently sent to several printers yesterday and last
night. If that happens again Mark will submit an NCO helpdesk ticket to
find the cause.

According to NCO, the issue with the ridges workstation in HSU was not
directly related to patching. Thus, TAFB forecasters can reboot N-AWIPS
workstations if needed.
HSU:
According to NCO, the issue with the ridges workstation in HSU was not
directly related to patching. Thus, HSU forecasters can reboot N-AWIPS
workstations if needed.
Other items:
William Martinez (the NHC/WFO facilities manager) said he made arrangements
with a company to come to NHC this week to look for a solution to the loose
tile issue in the HSU operations area.

NCO is working to develop a more systematic method for patching and
rebooting operational N-AWIPS workstations, and making sure NHC is
notified. That should be implemented over the next several weeks.
