HSU Shift Log for Fri Jul 28 2017 22:54:22 GMT-0400 (EDT)

Shift: R

Forecaster: E Blake

Technical Issues Summary:

ATCF issues:

N-AWIPS issues: 00z Pacific outlook graphic vgf could not be saved on any
workstation. Matt S & Doug G investigating. There was a permission issue
that was fixed. GOES16 meso sector typically 5-15 minutes behind for Meso 2
(Hilary) in NAWIPS. The data is coming in, but it is late (AWIPS2 is
updating normally). It seems to be coming in in bursts, rather than

AWIPS-2/NCP issues:

Other Techincal issues: The AMSU size estimates under the SGWHG directory
are still blank.

Miscellaneous issues: EC weeklies are really lit up for week 1 in the
Atlantic. Even though nothing other than the UK/CMC develops anything,
probably not telling the whole story. Also the baroclinic zone from the
northern Gulf to SE coast must be watched, but for now, it doesn't break
down, and stays rather baroclinic with lots of upper-troughing.
