TAFB Shift Log for Sun Oct 09 2016 08:40:02 GMT-0400 (EDT)

Shift: Day Shift

Pacific Forecaster: J Lewitsky

Atlantic Forecaster: A Latto

Surface Analyst: N Ramos

Technical Issues Summary:

GFE/NCP issues:

N-AWIPS issues: D. Zelinsky was in Saturday and determined the cause of the
ongoing issues on Cumulus, which is due to a video card/driver that is
incompatible with the version of Red Hat on that machine. When many SPFs or
certain SPFs are loaded the machine can run out of memory. Forecasters
noted the machine spontaneously switching between NMAP sessions thinking
that there were mouse issues. This was not due to any mouse issues, rather
what is noted above. NCO to investigate on Tuesday. Until then, if you use
cumulus please be careful with what and how many SPFs you load. Otherwise,
use the TAFB Backup desk.
