A summary of NHC computer operations.
A new option exists for sending computer trouble tickets to NCO from NHC.
Monica created a google template that creates and sends an email to
ncwcp.helpdesk at noaa.gov. The staff can report any problems with WINDOWS or
NAWIPS using this form. please direct any questions or feedback to Monica.
The Spot Forecast Text Formatter unexpectedly "vanished" from the formatter
launcher. TSB will work on this all day to resolve the problem.
Jeff says... In the mean time, if a marine incident incident occurs that
needs a spot forecast, please call up the previous FWSNHC in a text editor
window and change the previous version. The only trick to that is..
1) Use the Spot Forecast request webpage to submit the request.
2) STQNHC will automatically be generated and alarm in AWIPS2.
3) Call up the FWSNHC previous version and change the TAG to match the TAG
in the STQ. Other than that, change the synopsis and forecast at will.
Thus the bottom line is, when doing this manually be sure that the TAG in
your new FWS matches the TAG in the STQ. If not, the FWS that you issue
from the text editor window will not get tied to the website properly.
Derecho is in the process of being upgraded to better hardware.
Here are the links to everything:
TSB in conjunction with NCO will move the BONEFISH box (monitors,
keyboards will not move) to make more space under the desks on Thursday.
(We plan to move all of the NAWIPS boxes over the next two months).
Be sure to validate your webTA no later than tomorrow morning according
to Patty's instructions.
