Hi Everyone,
WAVEWATCH III is now at version 6.04 with the inclusion of the ugdev2
branch! A quick list of the updates are:
- Implicit time integration was added for unstructured grids
- Domain decomposition was added for unstructured implicit/explicit
schemes using PDLIB (Parallel Domain Decomposition Library) based on
ParMetis
- The SHRD/DIST ISEA/JSEA process was updated with GET_ISEA_INIT and
GET_JSEA_INIT
- Improved preprocessing of unstructured grid arrays was developed
- New and more efficient wetting/drying was added for unstructured grids
- A new switch pre-processor WW3_switch_process
- MEMCHECK options was added to trace memory usage during runtime
constructing a new interface to MALLOC and system msg.
- SETUP switch - implicit unstructured computation of wave setup
(experimental)
- Added various debug switches
More details can be found on the Vlab Issue at
https://vlab.ncep.noaa.gov/redmine/issues/51370.
Please note that there were lots of changes made including various bug
fixes. The changes in the structured regtests if any, were small in
magnitude. Due to the large amounts of changes, I would be a recommend
making a test of your applications to insure there are no issues*.* If you
do have problems, please create an issue describing it on Vlab (
https://vlab.ncep.noaa.gov/redmine/projects/emc-ww3/issues/new) adding
Aron, Ali and me as watchers or send an email (emails: aaronroland at gmx.de,
ali.abdolali at noaa.gov, jessica.meixner at noaa.gov).
The next commit will be from the nml branch, and then we will be making an
alpha release.
Best,
Jessica
