[Ncep.list.wwatch3.discussion-group] WAVEWATCH III: Update of Public Release (v5.16)

Hi

We would like to inform you about an update for the public release of
WAVEWATCH III (v 5.16).  This update is primarily an update of the manual
and has one minor bug fix as well. Details about the model and how to get
the code can be obtained at the same location as before at

http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/wavewatch

For those of you who have signed off on the license of version 4.18 or 5.16
and have a username and password on the server, you can use this to
download the updated model version.  New users will need to sign off on the
license on the web site in order to get access.  Note that you might need
to check your junk email folder for the response.  If you have submitted an
earlier request for a username and password and have not received an
answer, please let me know.

This release has been made possible due to the dedicated efforts of
multiple researchers and programmers without whose unrelenting commitment
this effort would not have been possible. The WAVEWATCH III Development
Group (WW3DG) now spans three continents and at last count stands at 43,
with many more making contributions for further development of the model.
WAVEWATCH III model development has now transitioned more into a community
driven effort, although code management is still done at NCEP.

We gratefully acknowledge the contributions of all the talented people that
make up the “WAVEWATCH III team” and look forward to a long period of
cooperation in developing WAVEWATCH III.
