Service Change Notice: Release of NOAA nowCOAST V6.5.0 - March 27, 2024

Effective on or about March 27, 2024, NOAA's nowCOAST (
https://nowcoast.noaa.gov) will provide users once again with access to
mosaics of NOAA/National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information
Service’s GOES East/West Imagery via an time-enabled web mapping service.
The GOES imagery will be available on a nowCOAST map service via the Open
Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant Web Map Services (WMS) protocol. The
new version will also provide again, via WMS, 15-minute ground-based
network Lightning Strike Density Data from the National Weather
Service/Ocean Prediction Center.  Users will be able to display the GOES
Imagery and Lightning Strike Density Data on the nowCOAST map viewer.

In addition, the users will once again be able display on the map viewer
the NWS Multi-Radar Multi-Sensor (MRMS) quantitative precipitation estimate
mosaics for 1-, 3-, 6-, 12-, 24-, 48-, and 72-hr time periods and the
latest NWS Beach and Surf Zone Forecasts including Rip Current Risk Levels.
The map viewer will accomplish this by consuming from the NWS Cloud GIS map
services.

Additional details about the new layers and map service will be provided on
the day of implementation.

NOAA nowCOAST is a product and service of the National Ocean Service's
Office of Coast Survey.
