nowCOAST Status Message

NOAA’s nowCOAST Version 6.4 was released today.

The new version provides a Marine Pathogen service containing maps of
NOAA/NOS' latest forecast guidance for the probability of occurrence of
Vibrio vulnificus (Vv), a marine pathogen which can cause illness and
hospitalization, in Chesapeake Bay. The Vv model predicts the probability
of Vv occurrence based on nowcasts and forecast guidance of water
temperature and salinity from the 0000 UTC forecast cycle of the NOS
Chesapeake Bay Operational Forecast System (CBOFS). The service may be
viewed on the nowCOAST map viewer under the Marine Pathogen layer at
https://nowcoast.noaa.gov. Also see WMS capabilities for more details:

In addition, we have added a new administrative boundary service for DOD
Military Working Areas currently containing the boundaries of VACAPES and
Cherry Point Range Complex Operating Areas (OPAREA) in the Mid-Atlantic
Region. These are provided along with associated Special Use Airspace (SUA)
in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. The military
working areas include airspace, seaspace, and undersea space. These areas
are used by the U.S. DOD for training and testing purposes. This service
may be viewed on the nowCOAST map viewer under the Federal Boundaries
