nowCOAST was affected yesterday by network and communication problems at
the NOAA IDP infrastructure in College Park, MD. This caused intermittent
outages and several datasets not being available at all.  All datasets are
available again on nowCOAST except for NCEP/OPC's  lightning strike density
data.  NCEP Central Operations continues to work to return the IDP
infrastructure to normal operations. The lightning data should be available
shortly on nowCOAST once the IDP infrastructure is back to normal.

The network/communication problems also resulted in the NCEP LISTSERV
mailing list not being available to send out nowCOAST Status Messages
until  this morning.  Our apologies for not being able to inform all our
users about the nowCOAST issues yesterday.
