NWS/NCEP Central Operations will be implementing today a new version of 
the NWS Multi-Radar/Multi-Sensor System (MRMS) which includes changing 
the update frequency of all 48- and 72-h Quantitative Precipitation 
Estimates (QPEs) from once a day at 1200 UTC to hourly.

Thus, the MRMS radar-only 48- and 72-hr  QPEs available from NOAA 
nowCOAST's map services 
(http://nowcoast.noaa.gov/arcgis/rest/services/nowcoast/analysis_meteohydro_sfc_qpe_time/MapServer) 
and map viewer will be updated hourly as well.

The descriptions in the ArcGIS REST Services Directory and ISO Metadata 
will be modified at a later date to indicate the new update frequency of 
the 48- and 72-h QPEs.
