*NOAA IDP-GIS Status Message*

9:00 AM EST Thursday, January 19, 2017

The restriction of access to IDP-GIS map services to only HTTPS has been
implemented.

At your earliest convenience, please update all bookmarks and application
references to use the HTTPS address: https://idpgis.ncep.noaa.gov

*Additional information:*

The U.S. Office of Management and Budget required that all federal
government public-facing federal websites transition to serving data via
only Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) by the end of 2016. Due to
this requirement, IDP-GIS’s map services are NO LONGER available via
unsecured HTTP.

IDP-GIS mapservice viewers are now automatically redirected to the HTTPS
site URL. However all client applications, including but not limited to
JavaScript or FLEX-based web mapping sites; web-based map portal
references, such as ArcGIS Online; and desktop GIS applications with direct
references to the old URL should switch to use https://idpgis.ncep.noaa.gov
.

Therefore, *we highly recommend that IDP-GIS users and partners switch to
using HTTPS to access IDP-GIS map services immediately*.

Please contact us at idp.gis.support at noaa.gov with any questions.
