Good Afternoon All,
  I just wanted to touch base with everyone after the shutdown and try and
clear a few things up.  NWS IA knows that there will be a number of
packages that will be sent that would normally be considered late.  If this
is the case, please include a sentence or two in the justification that
says it was due to the shutdown.  I know a lot of people ran in and put
trips together today, so if you have already sent us any packages but
forgot to include the lateness justification, we will still accept it for
the time being.  We will continue to process these packages as quickly as
we can in order to try and get your folks out the door, but please be
patient.

I have also reached out to the NOAA Travel Office with regards to potential
travel on personal passports in cases where the traveler cannot get
passports/visas in time due to the shutdown.  They informed me that these
would be considered on a case by case basis.
