All,

Below is a tasker to nominate non-government people to attend the GOES-S
Launch. People will have to pay their own way. *Due Jan 5 no exceptions*.

Here is the information on the GOES-S Non-Group traveler invitations.

*BACKGROUND*: The GOES-S Launch Readiness Date is March 1, 2018. A launch
is tentatively scheduled on or around that date, from Cape Canaveral Air
Force Station in Florida. As with all launches, this date may be delayed
due to technical factors, weather or other factors. NOAA and NASA are
planning the guest operations for viewing the launch, including assembling
preliminary guest invitation lists for launch viewing from Kennedy Space
Center.

We are seeking your help in nominating guests to receive an invitation to
launch. *This is a separate and distinct request from the one you received
earlier related to the group travel package and travelers on TDY.* Please
populate this list with stakeholders, partners or others that should
receive an invitation but their travel will *NOT* be paid by the
government. They will need to make their own travel arrangements. After
determining a list of internal and external guests for the launch, NOAA
will send invitations to the launch of this group. Again, these are guests
that will be traveling at their own expense.

Examples of organizations from which you might identify individuals for
inclusion on this list include OMB, OSTP, FEMA, DHS, AMS, AGU,
Universities, USAF, Navy, USCG, other DOC invitees, etc. Congressional and
International invites are handled separately.

*DESCRIPTION*: Please use this website <http://bit.ly/goes-slaunch> to
nominate guests. If you are nominating a Foreign National there are
additional steps to do so. Please follow the instructions as you fill out
the form on the website.

*DISCLAIMER: *Inclusion on this list and/or the NOAA invitation does not
automatically mean you have NOAA's or your supervisors' approval to attend
the launch. It also does not mean that there is funding identified for your
participation. All guests are responsible for the cost of their own travel
and for making their own travel arrangements. The only exception is for
employees who have NOAA/NASA supervisory approval and have official travel
orders. Unless you have a travel order, neither NOAA nor NASA will pay for
any travel or activities associated with the launch. The one exception is
that bus transportation to your designated launch viewing site from the
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will be provided.

*DUE: Friday, January 5th at NOON. Due to the launch being March 1 there
will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this deadline as we expect a large number of
guests for this launch. *
