The NOAA Environmental Data Management Workshop (EDMW) and Earth Science
Information Partners Federation Winter Meeting (ESIP) will be held January
9-10, 2017 and the *January 11-13, 2017 at the Bethesda North
Marriott in North Bethesda, Maryland.  *

If you have someone within your office who will be traveling to attend the
NOAA Environmental Data Management (EDM) Workshop Jan 9-10 and/or Earth
Science Information Partnership (ESIP) meeting Jan 11-13, OR local and
planning to attend, please fill out the Group Travel Request form at
http://tinyurl.com/noaa-edmw-2017-travel *no later than October 28, 2016. *


This Group Travel Request (GTR) is *mandatory* for federal employee
attendance at EITHER or BOTH of the following meetings, including local
(non-traveler) attendance at ESIP:

• *EDMW: NOAA Environmental Data Management Workshop (Jan 9-10, 2017)*
o Open to NOAA employees and contractors, and a limited number of external
participants.
o No registration fee.

• *ESIP: Earth Science Information Partners Federation Winter Meeting (Jan
11-13, 2017)*
o Open attendance.    $515 registration fee ($415 before Dec 15).
o Because of registration fee, local NOAA federal attendees must also fill
out this form.

*Meeting location: Bethesda North Marriott, 5701 Marinelli Rd, North
Bethesda, MD 20852.*

• This form is part of your travel approval and necessary for approval to
hold the Workshop.
• *Only NOAA federal employees must fill out this form*. Contractors must
seek independent permission from their employer to attend.
• This form is for approval purposes only; meeting registration and travel
reservations are separate.

The EDMW Theme is "Making NOAA's Data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable,
and Reusable for Societal Benefit." The Purpose of the workshop is to build
on past work in environmental data management at NOAA by highlighting
progress, identifying issues, fostering discussions, and determining where
new technologies can be applied. All NOAA employees and contractors are
welcome, including data producers, data managers, metadata developers,
archivists, researchers, grant issuers, policy developers, program
managers, and others.

Coming soon: EDMW Call for Abstracts in November, for talks in the proposed
sessions.
