normal between 10 N and 30 N. The above normal areas outweigh the below normal
areas except over the Indonesian islands and coastal northeastern China.  However, the rainfall amounts over southeastern
Australia and Papua New Guinea was below normal. For the past 30 days the
rainfall amounts were mixed across  the
region, and were below along the 
foothills of the Himalayas, southeastern and east central China,
Indonesia and over southeastern Australia.</p>

rainfall over India was mostly near to below normal across north east central
India, eastern China and Indonesia. Pockets of above normal rainfall are noted
over the Indian Western Ghats, North Korea, and over Laos and Vietnam. As of
today since the first of June, the India Met. Dept. reported that the overall
All India Monsson Rainfall index was slightly above normal (+3%).  For the next two weeks, the NCEP GFS model
forecasts below normal rainfall over Indonesia and large parts of eastern
China, and a mixed pattern elsewhere.</p>
