outlooks call for an increased chance for below-average rainfall over eastern

Botswana, much of Zimbabwe, and central Mozambique. In contrast, there is an
increased chance for above-average rainfall over southern Tanzania, northern
Malawi, northern Mozambique and Madagascar.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Rainfall deficits increased over the Amazon Basin, and
Central and Southeast Brazil.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">During the last 7 days (14-20 December 2015), below-average
precipitation was observed over most of Brazil north of 20S.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>Above-average precipitation was observed over
portions of Paraguay, Uruguay, northeastern Argentina and southern Brazil.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">For 21-27 December 2015, below-average precipitation is
predicted for most of the Amazon Basin, and central and southeastern Brazil.
Above-average precipitation is predicted for northern Peru, northeastern
Argentina, Uruguay and extreme southern Brazil.</p>
