The weekly PowerPoint presentations summarizing the recent variability of
the global monsoon systems have been updated on the CPC Global Monsoons

*HIGHLIGHTS:*



*African Monsoons:*



Weekly-rainfall surpluses exceeded 100mm over parts of Cote d’Ivoire,
southern Ghana, southeastern Nigeria and northern Congo-Brazzaville.



Week-1 outlooks call for an increased chance for above-average rainfall
over portions of Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Conakry, Sierra
Leone, southern Mali, parts of Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso,
southwestern Niger, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, western Cameroon, eastern Sudan,
western Ethiopia and, Eritrea. In contrast, there is an increased chance
for below-average rainfall over northern Congo-Brazzaville, northern DRC,
southern CAR, southwestern South Sudan and western Uganda.





*Asian-Australian Monsoons:*



Not available for this week.





*North American Monsoons:*



Below-average rainfall has been observed over northwestern Mexico during
the past week, while central Mexico experienced slightly
wetter-than-average conditions.



Rainfall accumulations over the past 30 days were above-average for much of
southern Mexico and portions of central Mexico.



NCEP/GFS Forecasts call for near-average precipitation for southwestern U.
S. for the next two weeks.
