[Ncep.list.emc.glopara-support] GFS SST question

Good morning all,

I received a question from outside about GFS SST ingest...would anyone be
able to answer this?

Question:

What are the GFS SST boundary conditions during its 16-day forecast?

The forecast starts off with a SST analysis, but then what? Are the SST
kept constant? Do they relax to a climatology? Are they updated during the
run according to some model of SST's (e.g. from the CFS)? If there's a
reference or documentation to this could matter someone point me to it?
